Who Are We?

B&L Group brings together highly trained and qualified professionals with diverse backgrounds in project management, planning, procurement, design and implementation of transport infrastructures including major highways, rails and airports, as well as structural design of buildings and other load bearing structures.

B&L Group brings together two consultancy entities:

  1. B&L Management Limited offering Project Management and Quantity Surveying Services with permanent offices in Kenya and Uganda.
  2. B&L Engineering Services Limited offering Engineering Consultancy Services with permanent offices in Kenya and Uganda.

    Jemima is the Human Resource Manager and Admin of B&L Group. She has over 14 years’ experience in office operations, management & business development duties. She is responsible for General office administration duties, ensuring company’s policies requirements are met, Coordinating monthly statutory returns and reconciliation of books of accounts with external consultant. She also gives Support to the Director of Operations to set up and update HR database. She has worked with the Intercontinental Hotel Nairobi & Intercontinental Consultant & Technocrats Pvt. India between 2002 and 2018 as an Executive Floor Agent, then ICT as a Business Development & Public Relations Manager. Jemima holds a Bachelor Degree in History and International studies from Egerton University and a Diploma in Front office operations and administration. She is also attained HSK Level 1 certificate from Confucius Institute HQ Hanban.

He is registered with Engineers Board of Kenya and holder of Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (JKUAT- Kenya). Serving in various capacities, he has successfully implemented and delivered projects across various sectors including infrastructure, residential sector, real estate, hospitality, health, civil works and logistics in his 21 years of professional practice. Osamong is experienced in design, value engineering and construction supervision, stakeholder and health and safety management, with a keen interest in advancing his knowledge in the above fields as well as sustainability, integrated project delivery, quality control and assurance. He is proficient in Autodesk Revit, Robot, RAM structural system, StaadPro and Etabs. His training, leadership, collaboration and diligence are his key strengths, proven by various recognitions of both his leadership, intellectual capabilities and servitude in his past and recent engagements.     Kevin is a Senior Civil Engineer at B&L Engineering Services Limited (B&L). He is also a holder of Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering (1st Class Hons) from the University of Nairobi. He has 5 years of experience in the design and construction supervision of buildings, bridges, roads, storm water drainage systems, water supply and sewer systems for multiple projects in various sectors e.g., health, manufacturing, infrastructure, logistics, energy, and real estate. Some key projects that he has taken part in are the Kenyatta National Hospital Master Plan, Nairobi Gate Industrial Park, Olkaria 1 Additional Unit 6 Geothermal Power Plant, Tilisi Developments Phase II and various real estate and residential development projects. Kevin is experienced in structural design of building and bridges, highway geometric and pavement design to Kenyan, Tanzanian, Ugandan and South African road design manuals, hydrological studies, hydraulic design, and traffic impact studies. He has also been a champion of adoption of Building Information Modelling (BIM) tools in civil engineering. He is proficient with several civil and structural engineering software packages e.g. AutoCAD, Autodesk Civil3D, Autodesk Storm and Sanitary Analysis, Autodesk Robot, Revit, Staad.Pro and Prokon. She has successfully performed such tasks as preparation of construction drawings for water and sanitation infrastructure, preparation of tender documents, cost estimates, specifications, proposals, reports and supervision of construction works. He is an experienced Civil/Structural Engineering professional with experience in planning, design and construction management in the built environment. Richard holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from The University of Nairobi and a Project Management Professional Certification (PMP) from the Project Management Institute (PMI). Richard’s main area of expertise is the planning and management of multi-disciplinary projects by careful planning and effective management of project stakeholders and project teams to ensure projects are delivered to specified project requirements. Richard has over 25 years of experience in delivering consultancy services across Kenya in real estate, mixed use developments, industrial installations and infrastructure projects that cut across from geothermal power plants to warehouses and housing estates to lifestyle malls. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Nairobi and a Master’s of Science degree from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT). Eng. Nguru has over 17 years of professional experience. He has particular experience in key project roles including team leadership, project management, highway design, pavement design and materials investigation. His experience was gained while working on projects located at different geographical locations including Kenya, Uganda and South Sudan. Eng. Nguru is well versed with modern computer technology for project delivery including but not limited to professional use of Civil 3D, InfraWorks 360, Microsoft office suite, Microsoft Project, and Global Mapper among others.     Lawrence has over 13 years' experience in Civil & Structural Engineering services and Construction Project Management, and holds a Masters in Project Planning and Management and a BSc (Hons.) in Civil & Structural Engineering. He is also qualified in Section 1 of Certified Public Accountancy and currently pursuing a Masters in Diplomacy and International Relations. Formerly a Senior Project Manager with MML Turner & Townsend, a Civil/Structural Engineer & Project Manager with ATKINS and a Graduate Roads Engineer with the Ministry of Transport. Our clients have benefited from his dedicated, loyal, intellectual and innovative approach to project management and problem solving. Lawrence's core strength is in improving project outcomes for clients through insightful team leadership, risk mitigation and unique value addition. Lawrence acts in the capacity of Key Account Manager for a number of our current and pipeline clients, most notably in the infrastructure, real estate, hospitality and medical sectors. He is a highly motivated individual, with specific skills in leadership, contract and stakeholder management, quality assurance and conflict resolution. He is also well versed in the proactive management and successful delivery of multiple overlapping construction contracts, within budget, program and required quality from inception to handover.

He is also qualified in Section 1 of Certified Public Accountancy and currently pursuing a Masters in Diplomacy and International Relations. Formerly a Senior Project Manager with MML Turner & Townsend, a Civil/Structural Engineer & Project Manager with ATKINS and a Graduate Roads Engineer with the Ministry of Transport. Our clients have benefited from his dedicated, loyal, intellectual and innovative approach to project management and problem solving. Lawrence's core strength is in improving project outcomes for clients through insightful team leadership, risk mitigation and unique value addition. Lawrence acts in the capacity of Key Account Manager for a number of our current and pipeline clients, most notably in the infrastructure, real estate, hospitality and medical sectors. He is a highly motivated individual, with specific skills in leadership, contract and stakeholder management, quality assurance and conflict resolution. He is also well versed in the proactive management and successful delivery of multiple overlapping construction contracts, within budget, program and required quality from inception to handover.

    Bernard is the Group Managing Director of B&L Group. He has worked for and held various for other companies including Getso Consultants, Zakhem International, Howard Humphreys Kenya (subsidiary of Kellog Brown & Root), Howard Humphreys East Africa Limited as Director of Project Management and Resource Planning and Atkins Global as Director of Atkins Africa, responsible for Project Management services and QSSE. He is a Registered Quantity Surveyor with the Board of Registration of Architects and Quantity Surveyors (Kenya) with more than 33 years' experience in Project management and Quantity Surveying for projects in East Africa in all sectors in property and infrastructure . Some of the notable projects that Bernard has successfully led include the 184,000 square metres Business Bay Square Mixed Use Development, Kigeri Utalii City Mixed use development on 202 acres, Wrigley Gum Factory in Mavoko, LSG Sky Chefs Inflight catering facility at JKIA Nairobi, more than 10 capex projects for East African Breweries Limited, Brookside Dairy Factory expansion in Ruiru, Simulator Facility for Kenya Airways Embakasi, Southern Shield Headquarters Building for Fidelity Insurance Company Limited and Equatorial Commercial Bank, several housing projects, banks and retail centres amongst others.
